Multi-Language Landing Pages Made Easy with HubSpot

Creating a landing page is one thing, but building multi-language landing pages adds an extra layer of complexity—especially if you're not fluent in the target language(s). For marketers, web developers, and business owners aiming to globalise their websites, multilingual functionality is a must. But where do you even start?
The good news—HubSpot makes it surprisingly easy to expand reach and engage international audiences with its multi-language support features. Recently, we worked on a project for a Swiss client, Aqua Swim Academy to create bi-lingual landing pages in English and French.
Spoiler alert: we didn’t need to be fluent in French to make it work!
This blog will guide you through the process of creating multi-language landing pages with HubSpot, highlight the tools that make it possible (including AI translation), and address common challenges along the way.
By the end, you'll know how to publish seamless web pages that truly speak your audience's language.
Why Multi-Language Pages Matter
We were approached by a Swiss-based client with a relatively straightforward request—a landing page that could effectively communicate their services to both French and English-speaking users. HubSpot’s multi-language landing page features were the perfect fit for their needs.
Building multi-language web pages isn’t just a nice-to-have—it's crucial for businesses wanting to appeal to widerl audiences. Localisation allows you to connect more deeply with your users by serving them content that’s relevant, digestible, and culturally appropriate.
But there was one small hiccup... While the team here at The Growth Agency has dabbled with “Je m'appelle” and “où est la gare”, we aren’t exactly fluent French speakers. This raised the question—how could we effectively craft this page without risking any embarrassing translation errors?
After some initial research and brainstorming, we came up with a plan to tackle the challenge of creating multi-language pages.
Here are the key steps:
- Understand Your Target Audience: Before diving into the content creation process, it's crucial to have a clear understanding of your target audience for each language. This includes their demographics, cultural nuances, and what type of messaging will resonate with them.
- If necessary us Translation Services or Native Speakers: Instead of relying on online translators or attempting to translate yourself, consider hiring professional translation services or working with native speakers who can provide accurate translations and cultural insights. For this project we used Jasper Ai, with a tone of voice matched with the client's for the initial translation. The client then tweaked the copy to ensure it matched local dialects.
- Be Mindful of Context: Certain words or phrases may have different meanings in different languages, so it's important to consider the context in which your content will be read. This can help avoid any misinterpretations or potentially offensive language.
- Test for Errors: After creating your multi-language pages, it's crucial to thoroughly test for any errors or formatting issues. Making sure everything is accurate and easy to understand is key for providing a positive user experience.
Once we were happy with the content, we used HubSpot's multi-language page feature to create a French version of our landing page. Then, we swapped out the original copy with our carefully polished French text.
Create multi-language variations of pages in Hubspot
Here’s how to navigate to your content and create a language variant:
- For Website Pages: Go to your HubSpot account and click Content > Website Pages.
- For Landing Pages: Head to Content > Landing Pages in your HubSpot account.
- Once you’re there:
- Click on the name of the page you want to edit.
- In the content editor, open the File menu and select New > Language variant.
- A dialog box will pop up—fancy! Use the Variation language dropdown menu to pick a language, then hit Create.
- To switch between language variations, just use the Language dropdown menu.
It’s as simple as that!
Now, go ahead and speak your audience's language—literally.
When visitors arrive at your page, they can now easily switch between languages, while you collect separate visitor data for both your English and French landing pages. Convenient, right?
Creating multi-language content is a smart move for reaching a global audience, and tools like HubSpot’s multi-language page options make it surprisingly simple.
Investing time in this part of your content strategy is well worth it—it benefits your readers and drives business growth. With these tips, your multi-language content will be effective, engaging, and aligned with your goals.
